It is important to stay busy, idle hands are the devil’s play things. It is in times of leisure that misery grasps tightest and so man should be made to work, and work to the point of exhaustion. To lead a fulfilled life one has to be pre-occupied even when his peers are resting, the mind grows stagnant only when we allow it to. Leisure leads to reflection, and reflection begets false thinking, which makes may for regret. Stay busy, stay happy.

the way we are and the way in which our minds function is heavily influenced by what we’ve been exposed to. our minds are the product of our experiences and struggles and what we’ve been able to grasp and learn from them. given that no two people share precisely the same experiences how can we expect those that don’t understand us, to understand us? they haven’t gone through what we have that granted us the wisdom we’ve acquired, so it’s not necessarily to their fault.

note to self: demeaning those who have yet to learn the lessons you’ve already surpassed will say more about you than it will about them.
